The meticulously curated exhibition juxtaposes a vivid portrait of the prewar shtetl of Opatów, as recalled in detail by artist Mayer Kirshenblatt (1916–2009), with the “post-Jewish” town it became after the Holocaust. While this exhibition focuses on Opatów, its story is similar in many post-Jewish towns all over Poland.
