Taube Center at the 35th Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków

The 35th Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków held special meaning for the Taube Center community, as this year’s edition was dedicated to the memory of Tad Taube z”l, a visionary philanthropist and long-time supporter of the Festival.

As a Festival partner, the Taube Center contributed to the program through a series of discussions, guided tours, and educational workshops exploring Jewish heritage, memory, and contemporary Jewish life.

During the panel discussion “Gatekeepers of Material and Intangible Heritage,” Helise Lieberman, Adam Musiał, Marta Eichelberger-Jankowska, and Dr. Agi Legutko discussed how educators and heritage professionals can communicate historical knowledge, interpret material heritage, and share intangible traditions through meaningful narratives.

Adam Musiał led the field workshop “Gateway to Eternity, Gateway to Diversity” at the New Jewish Cemetery on Miodowa Street, guiding participants through the stories of Kraków’s pre-war Jewish community preserved in biographies, inscriptions, and memories.

Together with Dr. Katarzyna Suszkiewicz from the Galicia Jewish Museum, Marta Eichelberger-Jankowska led “Gateway to the Temple and the Heavens: The Symbolism of the Synagogue as a Heritage Site,” exploring synagogue architecture, symbolism, and the stories embedded in Jewish heritage spaces.

Through these programs, participants engaged with Jewish heritage not only as history, but as a living field of education, interpretation, and connection.
