On July 22, we joined the 14th March of Remembrance organized by The Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute to honor the victims of the Grossaktion in the Warsaw Ghetto.
The Grossaktion was the mass deportation of nearly 300,000 Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto to the Treblinka extermination camp in the summer of 1942. The march began at the Umschlagplatz Monument and followed a route through Muranów, passing historical sites of artistic and cultural life in the ghetto, including the former Kino Femina and Cafe Sztuka.
This year, the event honored the musicians of the Warsaw Ghetto, such as Artur Gold, Janina Familier-Hepner, Paulina Braun, Josima Feldszuh, Jakub Glatsztejn, and Szymon Pullman. The ceremony concluded with a concert in the Krasinski Garden, featuring moving performances of ghetto-era music.
We thank the organizers and all participants who carried memory through the streets of Warsaw.
